Oh Europa (2018-2019)

Multimedia artists Action Hero (made up of Gemma Paintin & James Stenhouse) spent 6 months in 2018 travelling to all four corners of Europe recording an ever-evolving library of love songs from their motorhome, sung by the people they met on their journey. These were then added as virtual beacons in the location in which they were recorded, and can be found by downloading iOS and Android apps that guide you towards them. This was a fascinating art project that involved location-based technology as well as some interesting audio effects - with the intention of making it feeling like you're slowly 'tuning-in' to an FM radio transmitter. This Android project is 100% pure Kotlin and the source code is fully available to all.
